Magnet Robot Gakeen - S01

Dr. Kazuki, a scientist who foresaw an invasion by the alien Izaru race, constructs a robot using the principles of magnetism and sphere joint theory. His daughter, Mai, undergoes a risky augmentation procedure to become the pilot of "Mighty," also known as "Magnetman Minus," while Takeshi Houjou pilots "Puraiza," or "Magnetman Plus." To activate their super robot, Gakeen (short for "Gathering Keen"),the two pilots embrace each other, their bodies merging into metallic plates that lock onto the robot's frame, allowing it to move and battle. The transformation sequence, with its intimate physical union, carried an almost sensual undertone that stood out to older viewers.
