The Republic of San Magnolia developed unmanned combat drones called "Juggernauts" to counter the attacks from the Empire of Giad's autonomous drones, known as the "Legion." But the Juggernauts aren't truly unmanned-they're controlled by the Eighty-Sixers, people treated as subhuman and used as disposable tools. Shin, the captain of Spearhead Squadron, leads a group of Eighty-Sixers in a brutal, seemingly unwinnable war. Though death looms on the battlefield, he fights on, driven by his own hidden motives.
