The Relative Worlds
Shin Hazama closed himself off after his mother’s sudden and unexplained death in his childhood. With his scientist father absorbed in work, his only support is Kotori Izumi, his kind and well-liked childhood friend-the daughter of his father’s employer. As their third year of high school nears its end and graduation approaches, Shin and Kotori finally start to move ahead together, both in life and in love. Everything shatters again when Shin’s father dies unexpectedly. Before they can process the loss, Shin and Kotori uncover the truth behind his parents’ deaths after encountering agents from a high-tech dystopian Japan in a parallel world. Among them is Jin, Shin’s "relative self," who is fighting against the humanoid weapons Miko and Niko. Since their lives are connected, Jin has two goals: protect Shin to ensure their mutual survival, and kill Kotori to overthrow her counterpart, Princess Kotoko-his sworn enemy and the murderer of his parents. Faced with this harsh reality, Shin and Kotori must confront their true feelings for each other, even if their world might not last another day.
