.hack//G.U. Trilogy

Based on the popular CyberConnect2 game, this CG movie takes place within the storyline of the ".hack//G.U." trilogy. The story follows Haseo, a player in the MMORPG "The World:R2," who was once known as the feared "Terror of Death" for hunting down player killers (PKs) as part of the now-disbanded Twilight Brigade guild. When Haseo confronts Azure Kite-mistaking him for the mysterious Tri-Edge and blaming him for Shino’s fate-he is quickly overpowered. Azure Kite defeats him with ease and uses a strange ability called Data Drain, stripping Haseo of his level, items, weapons, and contacts, leaving him at level 1 with nothing. Now, Haseo must uncover the truth behind Data Drain and why Azure Kite possesses such a power. Later, Haseo gains the "Avatar" of Skeith, allowing him to summon and wield Skeith’s abilities, including Data Drain. With this newfound strength, he sets out on a mission to save Shino. His search leads him to Tri-Edge, a notorious PK whose victims reportedly vanish from the game entirely. Six months before the events of the story, Tri-Edge attacked Haseo’s friend Shino, leaving her character unable to return-and the real-life player, Shino Nanao, in a coma.
