The Empire of Corpses

By the 19th century, humanity has developed technology to reanimate corpses. These reanimated bodies lack independent thoughts or emotions, serving only as programmed laborers for human use. But there’s a limitation to this breakthrough. While science can restore movement to the dead, it cannot bring back what is lost at death: the soul. Rumors persist that Doctor Victor Frankenstein, who disappeared soon after his groundbreaking work, succeeded in reviving the only corpse that still possesses a soul. Driven by a promise to his late partner, Friday, London medical student John Watson seeks out Frankenstein’s research, believing it holds the secret to the soul. Recruited by a government agency, he embarks on a mission to uncover Frankenstein’s notes. Along the way, Watson confronts the brutal truths behind corpse technology and the personal sacrifices his quest demands.
