Shinobu Oomiya spent time in England as part of a homestay program, where she grew close to Alice Cartelet, the daughter of the family hosting her. When Shinobu had to return to Japan, the two struggled to say goodbye, their sadness transcending the language barrier between them. Five years later, now in high school, Shinobu receives an airmail letter she can’t read-only to discover it’s from Alice, who announces she’s coming to Japan for her own homestay. Not only will Alice be staying with Shinobu, but she’ll also be attending the same school. Together with their friends Youko Inokuma, Aya Komichi, and Karen Kujou, the five girls navigate school life while sharing the joys and quirks of their cultures.
