Great Conquest: The Romance of Three Kingdoms
The Yellow Turban Rebellion marks the beginning of the Han dynasty's collapse. In the early stages, Liu Bei-who later becomes the story's hero-and Cao Cao-its eventual villain-are still small figures. Liu Bei searches for a way to restore order to a world in chaos. As he struggles to find the right path, he meets two formidable warriors, Zhang Fei and Guan Yu. The three swear the Oath of the Peach Garden, pledging to stand together as warriors for justice. Meanwhile, Cao Cao wrestles with his own fate: whether he will be "a hero in a chaotic world or a villain in a peaceful one." At first, the warlord Dong Zhuo and his champion, Lu Bu, hold the most power. But their alliance crumbles over a woman, creating an opening for Cao Cao. Though Lu Bu is the mightier fighter, Cao Cao thrives on the battlefield through sheer cunning and luck. Liu Bei tries to stay true to his ideals, but he remains a minor player in China's vast, war-torn landscape. Battles rage across the country with no clear victor, paving the way for the conflicts to come in the next two films.
