Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu - S01
One day, while out on a small boat with his father, a boy named Tsuwabaki Daiya discovers a strange black fire in the ocean. From the flames, a massive monster emerges, dragging his father and the crew into the depths. Just as Daiya is about to meet the same fate, a giant mechanical dragon appears and rescues him. Five years later, Daiya is now a junior high student when the monstrous threat returns. He encounters the mecha dragon again-the "Daiku Maryu"-and watches as its head detaches, transforming into the powerful super robot Gaiking. Daiya boards Gaiking and defeats the monster in battle. Soon, he learns of a hidden enemy plotting to take over the world. To stop them, he sets off for the distant world of Darius.
