The year is 1995. Earth has fallen under the control of the Akron, an alien invasion force from the Saar cluster. Cities lie in ruins, and the few survivors struggle to survive in rough shanty towns and villages. Kento, a young orphan of the war, hides in a cave with his friends to escape pursuing bandits. There, they stumble upon the hidden lab of Dr. Earl, a refugee from the planet Helios-another world conquered by the Akron. Dr. Earl fled to Earth with Helios' greatest technological marvel: the super robot Daltanius, which grows even more powerful when combined with Beralios, its intelligent lion companion. Discovering that Kento is a descendant of Helios' lost royal bloodline, Dr. Earl entrusts him with the mission to reclaim Earth from the invaders.
