From Up on Poppy Hill
On a hill overlooking a seaside port stands a boarding house called Coquelicot Manor. Since her family runs the place, Umi Matsuzaki takes on many of the responsibilities, like cooking meals for the other residents. When she's not at home, she attends the local high school-where a quiet crisis is unfolding. To prepare for the upcoming Olympics, the school plans to tear down a cherished old clubhouse and replace it with a modern building. Many students have joined forces to stop this from happening, and Umi gets involved by helping the newspaper club spread awareness of their cause. There, she meets Shun Kazama, and as they work together, she slowly starts to develop feelings for him. But Shun is an orphan with little knowledge of his past, and when the two begin digging into his history, they uncover a connection between them-one neither of them expected.
