Time of Eve

In the near future-likely Japan-robots are commonplace, and androids have recently become part of daily life. Guided by the Robot Ethics Committee, society treats androids like ordinary appliances, though their human-like appearance-only distinguishable by the rings above their heads-has led some to develop misplaced sympathy for them. These "android-holics" are seen as a growing social issue. Rikuo, a high school student, was raised to view androids as nothing more than tools and has never questioned it. But when he stumbles upon odd behavior logs from his family’s android, Sammy, he and his friend Masaki investigate. Their search leads them to a strange café with an unusual rule: "humans and robots are to be treated the same."
