Time of EVE: The Movie
In a futuristic Japan, androids are commonplace, but treating them as equals to humans is socially unacceptable. Many fear robots rebelling against their masters, and those who trust their androids too much are mocked as "dori-kei" ("android-holics"). High schooler Rikuo Sakisaka grows suspicious when his household android, Sammy, starts leaving the house on her own. Checking her logs, he finds a strange message: "Are you enjoying the time of EVE?" With his friend Masakazu Masaki, Rikuo follows Sammy to a cafe called Time of Eve-a place where discrimination between humans and robots is strictly forbidden. Inside, he discovers a space where the two coexist indistinguishably. As Rikuo interacts with the cafe's patrons-from the lively Akiko to a malfunctioning android-he learns their personal struggles and stories. While searching for answers about Sammy’s behavior, he starts to doubt whether humanity’s fear of androids is truly justified, or if they deserve to be seen as more than just machines.
