The Rising of the Shield Hero

Naofumi Iwatani is an ordinary guy who loves anime and games. One day, while reading a book in the library, he’s suddenly transported to another world. Alongside three others-wielding a sword, spear, and bow-he’s chosen as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes, destined to battle the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero. At first, Naofumi is thrilled by the idea of a heroic journey, but his excitement is short-lived. Within days, he’s betrayed, stripped of his money, and left with nothing but scorn. With no one left to trust, he buys a slave named Raphtalia, and together they face the Waves and a hostile world. But can Naofumi ever turn his hopeless circumstances around?
