The Concierge
"A concierge never says 'no.'" That's just one of the strict rules Akino must follow in her new job as a saleswoman at the grand Hokkyoku Department Store. This isn't an ordinary store-its customers are all animals, with the most esteemed being extinct species. Sea minks, laughing owls, Japanese wolves, and even a towering mammoth-Mr. Woolly, the famous sculptor whose work is displayed here-all shop here. Despite its luxurious setting, Akino struggles to keep up with the customers' difficult demands, whether it's tracking down rare items or untangling their personal troubles. Can she, a nervous newcomer, rise to the challenge? If she hopes to keep her job, she'll have to please every customer while dodging the watchful eye of the picky floor manager Mr. Todo, a shady consultant looking to cut staff, and the store's mysterious president (who, for the record, is definitely not a penguin).
