Tamako Market - S01

In the lively Usagiyama Shopping District, a tight-knit group of quirky shopkeepers goes about their daily lives. Tamako Kitashirakawa, a sweet but slightly awkward high school girl, helps run her family’s traditional mochi shop, Tama-ya. One day, she encounters a strange talking bird named Dera Mochimazzi, who claims to be a royal messenger from a faraway kingdom. According to Dera, he’s searching for a bride for his homeland’s prince. He follows Tamako home, but after indulging in too much mochi, he grows too fat to fly back. Stuck in the shopping district, he settles in with Tamako’s family and quickly becomes the neighborhood’s favorite oddball companion. At the same time, Tamako’s childhood friend Mochizou Ooji quietly wrestles with his unspoken feelings for her. Their fathers are bitter rivals in the mochi business, but will their feud keep Tamako and Mochizou apart? And with Dera now grounded, what will become of his royal mission to find the prince’s future bride?
