Slam Dunk - S01
Hanamichi Sakuragi is known for his fiery temper, towering height, and bright red hair. When he starts at Shohoku High, his only goal is to find a girlfriend-something that eluded him after fifty straight rejections in middle school. But his reputation as a troublemaker makes most students steer clear of him. After a series of events, he’s left with two stubborn convictions: "I hate basketball" and "I need a girlfriend, no matter what." Everything changes when Haruko Akagi, unaware of his bad reputation, walks up to him and asks if he likes basketball. Smitten at first sight, Hanamichi eagerly says yes. She takes him to the gym and asks if he can slam dunk. Trying to impress her, he jumps-only to overshoot and crash headfirst into the blackboard. When Haruko tells the basketball team’s captain about Hanamichi’s incredible athleticism, he reluctantly gets pulled into the world of the sport he once despised, discovering unexpected friendships and rivalries along the way.
