Run with the Wind - S01

Kakeru Kurahara, once the star runner of Sendai Josei High School, gets caught shoplifting and flees from the convenience store. After escaping his pursuer, he bumps into Haiji Kiyose, a fellow student at his university. Haiji is struck by Kakeru’s speed and convinces him to move into Chikusei-sou, the shabby apartment where Haiji and eight other students live. Having gambled away his deposit money at a mahjong parlor, Kakeru agrees-though not happily. At Kakeru’s welcome party, Haiji drops a bombshell: Chikusei-sou is actually the dorm for Kansei University’s Track Club. He announces his ambitious plan to enter the Hakone Ekiden, Japan’s most famous university marathon relay. The problem? Aside from Haiji and Kakeru, none of the residents know how to run-and none of them care about Haiji’s far-fetched dream. With only a few months left to qualify, can Haiji, a fourth-year student, rally this reluctant group and turn his impossible goal into reality?
