Red Blooded Eleven - S01

At Shinsei High School, soccer is less a game and more a brutal battle. The new coach, Teppei Matsuki, is a ruthless taskmaster who drives his team mercilessly to secure victory. Rebellious troublemaker Shingo Tamai and his friend Ohira refuse to bow to Matsuki’s demands, forming their own team instead. At first, they play purely for fun and struggle to compete with Matsuki’s squad. But as they hone their skills, facing stronger opponents, they eventually clash with the elite Asakase High School team and its star player, Misugi Yan, in the championship final. Woven into the story are old rivalries, injuries, and a mixed-race player searching for his identity and his imprisoned mother. Shingo grows into a formidable center forward, dreaming of facing a visiting Brazilian team-until a serious injury threatens his future. Yet his raw talent, acknowledged even by the legendary Pelé, is matched only by his grit. With help from an unlikely ally-a friend of his old rival Matsuki-he fights his way back to lead his team to triumph. More melodrama than pure sports story, this marks the start of Japan’s soccer soap tradition, paving the way for series like "Captain Tsubasa." Based on the manga by Ikki Kajiwara and Kosei Sonoda.
