Princess Arete

Princess Arete is locked away in her father's castle tower, where she passes the time gazing at the world beyond her window. Occasionally, she steals glimpses of ordinary people going about their lives. Meanwhile, the kingdom's knights vie for her hand in marriage-and the throne-by hunting for ancient magical artifacts left behind by a vanished race of sorcerers. Arete has no interest in their games. She dreams of walking among the common folk and visiting the faraway lands she reads about in the books hidden beneath her bed. When the sorcerer Boax arrives in a strange flying machine, he proposes to make her his bride and mold her into a "proper" princess.
