Porco Rosso

After a curse transforms World War I flying ace Marco Pagot into a pig, he lives as Porco Rosso, a reclusive bounty hunter who hunts sky pirates over the Adriatic Sea. He spends most of his time on a quiet island, only leaving to claim bounties or visit Gina, a singer who owns the Hotel Adriano. During a trip to repair his damaged plane, Porco Rosso is shot down by Donald Curtis, a brash young American pilot eager for fame. Donald boasts that he’s killed the flying pig, but Porco Rosso escapes, unwilling to let Gina down. He heads to the renowned Piccolo S.P.A. aircraft company, taking out a huge loan to upgrade his plane. There, he’s startled to learn the lead engineer is 17-year-old Fio Piccolo, who’s desperate to prove her skills. With Fio’s modifications, Porco Rosso gears up for a formal duel with Donald to reclaim his reputation.
