Planet Robot Danguard Ace

"Planet Robo Danguard Ace" is a Japanese sci-fi anime series created by Leiji Matsumoto and Dan Kobayashi. It was later licensed by Jim Terry Productions as part of the "Force Five" lineup under the shortened title "Danguard Ace." Lynn Garrison adapted the English script for a redubbed version, merging several episodes into a feature-length film that developed a cult following on Showtime in the 1980s. The show's robot also appeared in Marvel Comics' "Shogun Warriors" series and a matching toy line. In 2009, William Winckler Productions released three newly dubbed movies based on the original series. Winckler, known for "Tekkaman the Space Knight," handled writing, producing, and directing these films, which later aired on Japanese broadband. "Dangard Ace" stands as Matsumoto's sole entry into the giant robot genre.
