Only Yesterday

Taeko Okajima is a 27-year-old Tokyo woman who has lived her whole life in the city. Seeking a break from the urban grind, she travels to the countryside to visit family and assist with the harvest. During the train ride, Taeko finds herself lost in vivid memories of her younger self-a girl on the cusp of adolescence. Upon arrival, she meets Toshio, a local farmer, and the two strike up an easy friendship. As she spends time with her relatives and new acquaintances, Taeko experiences the rhythms of rural life-its hardships, its simple pleasures-and reflects on the divide between her childhood aspirations and the woman she has become. "Omoide Poroporo" is a quiet, reflective story about nostalgia, growth, and the gentle tug of the past.
