As the war between machines and androids rages on, YoRHa Command and the Resistance gear up for a final, all-out strike against the robotic "Machine Lifeforms" that dominate the surface. Amid the preparations, the androids 9S and 2B carry out their reconnaissance mission, but tensions rise as they grapple with their duties, their bond with each other, and their allegiance to Command. Even though the dangerous Adam and Eve have been eliminated, the machines remain a threat. Lurking in the shadows, the mysterious "Red Girl" watches the androids closely, biding her time before making her move.
