The year is 5012. Earth has fallen under attack from an alien force and their relentless "Machine Lifeforms," driving humanity to near extinction. The survivors fled to the moon, where they began organizing a counterattack using android soldiers to take back their homeworld. Yet the war has stalled-the machines reproduce endlessly, forcing humanity to create a new line of androids as a final weapon: the "YoRHa" unit. Among them is "2B," newly sent to Earth, where she joins "9S," an analyst already stationed there. As they carry out their mission, they encounter strange and unexplained events. This is the tale of these soulless androids and their unending battle for humanity’s survival.
