Liz and the Blue Bird
Liz lives a quiet, solitary life until she encounters a blue bird who takes the form of a young girl. Their bond deepens, but Liz must ultimately make a painful choice to fully understand her love for the bird. Mizore Yoroizuka and Nozomi Kasaki, high school seniors and close friends, are assigned the lead parts in their band’s performance of "Liz and the Blue Bird," a piece based on this fairy tale. Shy and reserved Mizore plays the oboe, embodying the gentle Liz, while outgoing and popular Nozomi plays the flute as the lively Blue Bird. Yet as they practice, a growing rift forms between them. Their duet falters, frustrating the band. With graduation approaching, unspoken tensions and fears about the future weigh on them. Time is running out to fix their performance, and in their struggle to connect with their roles, they begin to see the story in a different light. Will this new understanding help them confront the difficult truths ahead? A spin-off from the Hibike Euphonium! series, "Liz to Aoi Tori" weaves together the threads of a bittersweet fairy tale, an emotional musical piece, and the fragile bond between two friends.
