Kinokoinu Mushroom Pup - S01

Hotaru Yuuyami, a picture book writer, has been unable to work for nearly two months after the death of his beloved dog, Hanako. His childhood friend and editor, Tsubaki Uehara, tries to help, but nothing eases his sorrow. Then one day, a strange mushroom from his garden transforms into a dog-like creature named Kinoko Inu. Ignoring Tsubaki’s disapproval, Hotaru quickly welcomes the odd little being into his home. As Hotaru and Kinoko Inu settle into life together, the mushroom-dog burns Hanako’s remaining belongings in an attempt to help Hotaru move on. But living with the playful, troublesome creature isn’t easy, and Hotaru soon realizes he must confront his grief if he wants to properly care for his new companion.
