Key the Metal Idol - S01

Tokiko Mima, known as "Key," is a 17-year-old robot who looks human, living quietly in the Japanese countryside. When her grandfather, Dr. Murao Mima, dies, he leaves her with a final wish: if she can make thirty thousand friends, she can become a real girl. Determined to fulfill his dream, Key leaves Mamio Valley for Tokyo, where she reunites with her childhood friend Sakura Kuriyagawa. In the city, Key becomes fascinated by idol singer Miho Utsuse and wonders if pursuing music will help her gain the friends she needs. But Miho hides a dark secret-she’s linked to Jinsaku Ajou, a former rival of Dr. Mima now working on dangerous robotic weapons. As Key strives to become human, Ajou sets a sinister plan in motion, revealing that Key herself is far more than she seems.
