Kamichu! - S01

Yurie Hitotsubashi is an ordinary middle school girl living in the quiet coastal town of Onomichi during the 1980s. Her biggest concerns are passing exams and getting the attention of Kenji, the oblivious boy she has a crush on. But one day at lunch, she casually tells her friend Mitsue that she became a goddess the night before. Their classmate Matsuri sees an opportunity in Yurie’s claim-her family’s struggling Shinto shrine could use a fresh start. Matsuri schemes to replace their ineffective local god, Yashima-sama, with Yurie, hoping to draw in more visitors (and money). Suddenly, Yurie finds herself juggling divine duties-granting wishes, breaking curses, meeting aliens, and even attending god meetings-all while navigating school and working up the nerve to tell Kenji how she feels.
