Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut - S01

On November 23, 1957, the world watched as the Federal Republic of Zirnitra made history by sending the first living creature-a dog-into space. Since then, the rivalry between Zirnitra and its opponent, the United Kingdom of Arnack, has grown fiercer, with both nations aiming to eventually launch humans beyond Earth. But a dog's body isn’t the same as a human’s, making it impossible to fully understand the dangers of space travel without sending a person up there. Zirnitra’s government believes they’ve found an answer: testing on vampires, whose biology closely resembles humans. Irina Luminesk, a vampire taken from her mountain home, doesn’t resist-in fact, she’s eager to train as a test subject. Assigned to guide her is Lev Leps, a former frontrunner to become Zirnitra’s first human cosmonaut. As they spend time together, their shared fascination with space deepens, slowly drawing them closer.
