Home of Acorns
Keiko, the only daughter of the Takazi family, was born with severe disabilities-deaf, mute, and mentally impaired. Though her parents struggled to come to terms with her condition, their hardship persisted. After Keiko enrolled in a school for the deaf and mute, everything changed. With the support of teachers and friends, not only Keiko but also her parents began to grow. Together, they formed a group called "Donguri" (meaning "acorn") to create a community workshop where people with disabilities could live independently.
