From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman - S01
For two decades, Beryl Gardenant has run his father’s sword-fighting dojo in a quiet village, teaching countless students. Many have gone on to become exceptional swordsmen, but Beryl remains modest, calling himself just an old man. His former pupils disagree-including Allucia Citrus, who trained under him over ten years ago and now commands the Royal Order of Knights. Hoping to show the world her teacher’s true skill, Allucia recommends Beryl to her superiors, and he’s soon appointed as a special instructor for the Order by royal decree. She delivers the news personally, though Beryl doesn’t suspect her ulterior motives. With his aging parents urging him to accept, he reluctantly agrees and moves to the capital. There, he reunites with other former students like Surena Lysandra, now a top-ranked adventurer, and Ficelle Harbeller, a distinguished Magic Corps officer. Before long, whispers spread: the "old man" from the countryside is unmatched-even by the kingdom’s strongest warriors.
