Darker than Black

Ten years ago, a strange rift in space dubbed "Heaven's Gate" appeared in South America, followed soon after by "Hell's Gate" in Tokyo. These anomalies twisted the sky and scarred the land, blotting out the real stars with artificial ones. Around the same time, people with unusual powers-known as "Contractors"-began to surface, each gifted with distinct supernatural abilities. After the catastrophic Heaven's War, the United States fell from its place as a global superpower, overtaken by a shadowy group called the Syndicate. The story follows a Chinese Contractor known only as "Hei" as he carries out covert missions, espionage, and assassinations in Tokyo.
