Akagi - S01
闘牌伝説アカギ 闇に舞い降りた天才 , Mahjong Legend Akagi: The Genius Who Descended Into the Darkness, The Legend of Mahjong: Akagi
Mahjong is usually a casual game played among friends and family, but it also thrives in the shadowy underworld. Nangou, a gambler deep in debt, owes over three million yen. In a desperate bid to settle his debts, he stakes his life on a high-stakes mahjong match against the mafia. But as the game unfolds, Nangou only falls deeper into trouble, inching closer to disaster. Just when all seems lost, the game parlor is interrupted by Shigeru Akagi, a young fugitive fleeing the police. Seeing no other way out, Nangou passes the game to Akagi after hastily teaching him the basics. The mafia sneers at the boy’s inexperience-until they realize Akagi is no ordinary player. He’s a fearless gambler by instinct, unshaken by danger, and on the path to becoming a legend.
