Akagi

Nangou is a hopeless gambler drowning in over three million yen of debt. With no other way out, he risks his life in a high-stakes mahjong game against the mafia. But as the match unfolds, his luck only worsens, pushing him closer to disaster. Just when it seems all is lost, the game parlor is interrupted by Shigeru Akagi, a young fugitive fleeing the police. Seeing a chance to change his fate, Nangou hastily teaches Akagi the basics and hands the game over to him. The mafia scoffs at the boy’s inexperience-until they realize Akagi is no ordinary player. Fearless and unnaturally skilled, he plays with a ruthless instinct that marks him as a true gambler, one whose name will echo in legend.
