A documentary about Japan’s Elephant Trains. During World War II, many zoos killed their dangerous animals-including elephants-to prevent them from escaping if Allied bombings damaged the enclosures. After the war, only two elephants remained in Japan, both at Higashiyama Zoo in Nagoya. To let children see them, special trains known as Elephant Trains were organized, bringing kids from across the country to the zoo.
