Yukikaze - S01

For 33 years, humanity has been locked in a war with the JAM, an alien race that first appeared over Antarctica through a hyperspace passage. After humanity repelled their initial attacks, the conflict shifted to the JAM's homeworld, Fairy. While most people on Earth have forgotten the war, the fighting still rages there, with the United Nations maintaining five bases and a cutting-edge military force, including the Fairy Air Force (FAF). Lieutenant Rei Fukai is a pilot in the FAF's elite Boomerang reconnaissance squadron, flying a Super Sylph fighter nicknamed "Yukikaze." His role is to gather critical intelligence on the JAM from high above the battlefield. Though an exceptional pilot, he depends just as much on Yukikaze's advanced weaponry and nearly sentient AI. Fukai's cold, detached demeanor has made him unpopular among his fellow pilots, but he remains focused on his mission. That focus is shaken, however, when he encounters an unresponsive and aggressive aircraft during a brutal battle-one that looks exactly like his own.
