Wandering Son - S01

Fifth grader Shuuichi Nitori looks like one of the prettiest girls in school, but to their frustration, they were born male. Their childhood friend Yoshino Takatsuki understands this struggle-though assigned female at birth, Yoshino doesn’t feel like a girl either. The two find comfort in their shared secret, but life grows more complicated as they navigate a new school, try to make friends, and work to keep old relationships intact. Along the way, they confront the challenges of growing up, understanding their identities, and finding acceptance. "Hourou Musuko," written by Takako Shimura, offers a grounded exploration of gender identity and LGBT experiences. The story follows Shuuichi and Yoshino as they grapple with puberty, friendship, love, and the difficult decisions that come with being true to themselves.
