Kenta, a young trainer on his way to becoming a Pokemon master, reunites with his childhood friend Marina at a Pokemon Center to test their skills in a battle. However, their match is cut short by a sudden thunderstorm and the appearance of Bashou and Buson, two members of Team Rocket. The pair are using a device called the Crystal System to lure Electric-type Pokemon. Working for Dr. Shiranui, their mission is to deliver powerful Pokemon to their leader, Giovanni.
