Kazunari Usa is a high school freshman about to start living on his own after his parents move away for work. He looks forward to his newfound independence, hoping for an ordinary teenage life without any odd encounters. But his new boarding house, the Kawai Complex, turns out to be anything but normal. The other residents are a peculiar bunch. His roommate, Shirosaki, is a pervert with masochistic tendencies. Mayumi Nishikino, an office worker who drinks a bit too much, despises couples due to her own unlucky love life. Sayaka Watanabe, a seemingly sweet college student, takes pleasure in toying with men's feelings. Disheartened by the eccentric crowd, Kazunari nearly moves out-until he meets Ritsu Kawai, a shy upperclassman. As he gets to know her, he starts developing feelings, making the chaotic boarding house a little more bearable.
