The Heike Story - S01

The Taira clan-called the Heike-wields great power over Japan. A young girl with a strange eye that lets her glimpse the future carelessly insults the clan, and her father is executed for her offense. Soon after, Taira no Shigemori, the leader's eldest son, encounters the same girl, now going by the name "Biwa." She warns him that the Heike's downfall is near. When Shigemori learns how the clan wronged her, he decides to protect her rather than let her die. Amid growing military unrest, the Heike scheme for dominance, and war looms ahead. Shigemori, who can see the spirits of the dead, fears for his clan's fate yet clings to hope. Biwa hesitates to share what she knows of the future and must adjust to her new life-a mix of joy and grief-as Japan stands on the brink of change.
