The Flowers of Hard Blood - S01

Shion Yasuoka, a middle school student, is defying expectations as she rises through the ranks of professional shogi. After losing her family as a child and being left mute by the trauma, she found solace in her adoptive family and the shogi community, allowing her to rebuild her life and pursue her demanding career. Her skill catches the eye of Satoru Hani, a wealthy businessman and brother of the reigning "Meijin"-the highest title in Japanese shogi. Satoru organizes a groundbreaking tournament open to all players, professionals and amateurs alike, and encourages Shion to compete. But his unusual knowledge of her past raises suspicions, both from her close friend Ayumi Saitou and the police, who are still investigating the tragedy that took Shion's family. As the tournament nears its end, fragments of that fateful night begin resurfacing in Shion's memory. To overcome her opponents and confront those who shattered her life, she must draw on every ounce of her strength-both on and off the shogi board.
