The Elusive Samurai - S02

Tokiyuki Houjou, an easygoing eight-year-old noble, enjoys his quiet life in Kamakura and pays little attention to the weighty duties awaiting him as his father’s heir. Rather than training seriously in swordsmanship or archery, he masters the art of evasion, expertly avoiding his advisors and uncovering the best hiding spots. But his peaceful days end abruptly when a violent coup destroys his entire clan. Consumed by guilt as the only survivor, Tokiyuki considers following his family in death. His fate changes unexpectedly when Yorishige Suwa, a mysterious priest, thrusts him onto a battlefield. Yorishige prophesies that Tokiyuki will grow into a legendary hero, forcing the boy to escape enemy soldiers on his own. As Tokiyuki fights to stay alive, he discovers an exhilarating new challenge-one that twists his childhood games of hide-and-seek into a deadly struggle. Fueled by fresh determination and Yorishige’s promise of future allies, Tokiyuki swears to take revenge for his family. But he won’t rely on strength in battle-his greatest weapon will always be his unmatched talent for running away.
