Stars Align - S01

The boys' soft tennis club is on the verge of being shut down-their skills are weak, their match results poor, and they're constantly overshadowed by the girls' team. Desperate for new members, Touma Shinjou struggles to find anyone worth recruiting. That changes when Maki Katsuragi, a transfer student, catches a stray cat in class with lightning-fast reflexes, catching Touma's eye. Eager to bring him onto the team, Touma asks Maki to join, but Maki refuses-he has no interest in clubs. Undeterred, Touma keeps pushing until Maki agrees, but only if Touma pays him for his time and covers all club expenses. Once on the team, Maki's natural talent and rapid improvement quickly surpass the other players, creating tension. Yet his presence also pushes them to improve, forcing them to take the sport seriously for the first time. As the boys begin to uncover their potential, they also face personal struggles, navigating the harsh realities of middle school life along the way.
