Sound! Euphonium

After giving up music due to an incident at her middle school’s regional brass band competition, Kumiko Oumae starts high school hoping for a clean slate. Yet she soon finds herself surrounded by classmates who share her past passion for band. With the support of her peers-some new, like the inexperienced tuba player Hazuki Katou, the seasoned contrabassist Sapphire Kawashima, and the band’s vice president and fellow euphonium player Asuka Tanaka-Kumiko rediscovers her motivation to play. Others are familiar faces, like her childhood friend Shuuichi Tsukamoto, who switched from horn to trombone, and Reina Kousaka, her former trumpeter teammate from middle school. But the band itself is a mess. Though they dream of reaching the national competition, their current state makes even qualifying for the local festival seem unlikely-unless their new advisor, Noboru Taki, can turn things around.
