Shooting Star Machine Gakusaver - S01

A few years ago, a massive meteorite crashed onto Earth. Inside it, researchers found a mysterious capsule thought to belong to aliens-dubbed the "black box." An international group, "Project BB," was formed to study it. Manabu Yoshimura and seven other boys attend International Academy, a school near Project BB's headquarters. Their teacher, Toukichi Hashiba, lures them into an experiment with the promise of class credit. The experiment involves entering the meteorite's eight empty chambers. Hashiba believes the meteorite reacts to powerful human thoughts, so he tells the boys to vividly imagine a giant, impressive robot. If they focus hard enough, something should happen... Suddenly, a massive spaceship appears in the sky, and an alien named Wercury projects a 3D image of himself. He claims to be from the Star of Prokimasi and demands the meteorite, which belongs to the Choshin people. If Earth refuses, he threatens war. Before Manabu and his friends can process this, the meteorite responds to their thoughts and transforms into a towering robot. Attacked by Prokimasi's robot, the boys have no choice but to fight back. But coordinating the minds of eight people proves far harder than expected, and their robot struggles to function properly. With the robot-named "Gakusaver" by Hashiba-and their own teamwork untested, can Manabu and his friends protect Earth and the meteorite from Prokimasi's invasion?
