SHIROBAKO the Movie

Four years after producing "Daisan Hikou Shoujotai", the once-famous Musashino Animation-nicknamed "Musani"-has fallen on hard times. A major project cancellation plunged the studio into financial trouble, driving most of the staff away. Since then, Musani has failed to produce anything noteworthy, its reputation fading fast. Producer Aoi Miyamori, though her confidence wavers, refuses to accept this decline. Her chance for a turnaround arrives with "SIVA", an original film set to release in just ten months. Meanwhile, Aoi’s friends are grappling with their own struggles: animation supervisor Ema Yasuhara is overwhelmed by her workload; voice actress and reporter Shizuka Sakaki is frustrated by the lack of roles; screenwriter Midori Imai is stuck in a creative slump after her last failure; and 3D artist Misa Toudou worries her intense passion is holding her career back. The anime industry is riddled with challenges, but these five refuse to give up. Their determination might just push them closer to the dream they all share.
