Shangri-La - S01

In a post-apocalyptic Japan, frequent earthquakes have left much of the country in ruins, allowing nature to reclaim the land. Governments now control global emissions, creating a stark divide between the wealthy elite and the struggling masses. The Japanese government introduces "Project Atlas," a futuristic city meant to replace Tokyo-but with limited space, many are forced to live as refugees in the wild jungles outside its walls. Not everyone accepts this unequal system. Among the dissenters are Kuniko Houjou, the heir to a rebellious town; Mikuni, a mysterious and powerful child hidden in a secluded temple; Kunihito Kusanagi, a soldier working for the high-tech monopoly Atlas; Karin Ishida, an economic prodigy with influence over global markets; and Ryouko Naruse, the ruthless leader of Atlas, determined to maintain control over this fractured world. This unlikely group of rebels, calling themselves "Metal-Age," must unite to prove that cooperation and inclusivity can overcome the cruelty of segregation.
