A remnant of Sosai X mutates into Sosai Z and enlists the power-hungry Count Egobossler to build an army bent on world domination. To face this rising threat, the Science Ninja Team Gatchaman reunites, now armed with advanced weapons and a new ship, the Gatchaspartan. However, their newfound power comes at a cost: whenever Ken the Eagle wields the Gatchafencer as part of the Gatchaspartan's ultimate weapon, his strength fades as the weapon inexplicably saps his life force.
