School Shock - S01

In 2017, a team of brilliant scientists makes a major breakthrough in bioengineering, but their discoveries are quickly weaponized, sparking a new arms race. The most advanced of these military assets are the "vanguards"-bioengineered soldiers enhanced with nanotechnology. While they are devastatingly effective in combat, the same nanomachines that give them power also drain their lifespans, forcing most to retire after just a few years of service. Liuli, the story's heroine, has spent years carrying out missions, leaving her with only 380 days to live. Despite her limited time, she is assigned one last operation: rescuing a hostage from a civilian facility. It’s an unusual task for a vanguard like her, trained only for killing, but she accepts it without protest. During the mission, Liuli discovers that the hostage-taker is Zhongrong Zhou, a former vanguard himself. Zhou, now a broken man, pleads with the government to return "the son of Eden." Liuli, bound by her loyalty and disdain for deserters, sees Zhou as a disgrace to vanguards. The two clash, igniting a brutal battle between warriors who were once the same.
