Samurai Champloo - S01

Fuu Kasumi is a clumsy young waitress working at a quiet teahouse until she spills a drink on a customer, drawing the wrath of a group of samurai. Desperate, she turns to Mugen, another samurai in the shop, who fights them off with his unorthodox, breakdance-like style. But Mugen then picks a fight with Jin, a reluctant ronin who fights with disciplined precision. Their duel ends with both destroying the teahouse and unintentionally killing the magistrate's son. Sentenced to death for their crime, Mugen and Jin are saved by Fuu, who hires them as her bodyguards. With no home to return to, she asks them to help find a mysterious samurai who "smells of sunflowers." Though reluctant at first, the two agree, and the trio sets off on their journey-if Fuu can stop Mugen and Jin from fighting each other along the way. Set in an alternate Edo-era Japan, "Samurai Champloo" follows the trio's adventure, blending action, humor, and intense swordplay against a backdrop of hip-hop-inspired music.
